The Al-Khoei Foundation is the proprietor of Al-Sadiq School and Al-Zahra School. Founded in 1989 by the late spiritual leader of Shia Muslims, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayed Abulqasim Al-Khoei, this international, non-profit organisation seeks to address the welfare of Muslim communities, and in particular Shia Muslims, around the world. Its fundamental aim is to promote education, intra- and interfaith dialogue, enhance the understanding of Islam and encourage citizen empowerment and community development. It has also held a general consultative status at the UN ECOSOC since 1998.
Against the backdrop of this far-reaching vision, Al-Sadiq and Al-Zahra Schools first opened their doors in 1991 and were subsequently registered as two separate schools: Al-Sadiq School and Al-Zahra School.
The schools are named after two distinguished Islamic personalities: Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq (the sixth divinely appointed leader after the Prophet of Islam for Shia Muslims) and Sayeda Fatima Al-Zahra (daughter of Prophet Muhammad).
The Al-Khoei Foundation has founded similar educational establishments across the world, including the USA, Canada, Thailand and Pakistan.
