"I studied at ASAZ from year 1 to year 11 graduating in 2003. I then went on to study Medicine at Cambridge University and Imperial College and am currently an Academic Clinical doctor in paediatrics and genetics at Great Ormond St Hospital. I fondly remember my time at ASAZ and could not have wished for a better start to my education. The atmosphere was always warm and safe and encouraging and it filled me with a confidence that carries me till today. The teachers always believed in us and were very invested in our education."
Being a student at ASAZ was an unforgettable experience for me. The very start of my journey to education began there, joining the school in Reception and staying on till year 11. I was surrounded by teachers who wanted to see me excel and their support and encouragement drove me throughout.
The school was also one of my first platforms for recitations. My sisters and I were always encouraged by the teachers to recite various poems during the special assemblies conducted in school. We have now released 12 albums and a number of singles consisting of Islamic nasheeds and eulogies, some actually inspired by what we recited as children in school.
After graduating from the school, I went on to study Psychology at City University after which I acquired my PGCE from the University of Manchester. My passion for teaching stemmed from having studied at ASAZ and I was fortunate enough to go back to ASAZ as a teacher. Teaching at the school has been like a dream, knowing that I can give back to the society of today and help make a difference in the children's lives in whatever way possible.
